Every July, we recognizeĀ Disability Pride Month, a time to celebrate the disability community, honor the achievements of people with disabilities, and continue advocating for accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunity.

What Is Disability Pride Month?

Disability Pride Month is celebrated every July and commemorates the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which was signed into law on July 26, 1990. The ADA was a landmark civil rights law that prohibited discrimination against people with disabilities and helped improve accessibility throughout the United States.

Today, Disability Pride Month is about much more than legislation. We celebrate individual identities, amplify disabled voices, and continue to advocate for a more accessible world.

Why Disability Pride Matters

Disability Pride encourages society to move away from outdated stereotypes and toward acceptance, inclusion, and understanding.
